Margie Cansler Obituary
AIKEN - MARGIE SMITH CANSLER, 94, widow of Robert Cansler, passed away peacefully Monday, March 17, 2025 at home.
A native of Duncan, SC, Margie was a daughter of the late Charlie and Dolly Harvey Smith. She made her home in Aiken since 1953 and was a homemaker. She was a founding member of Charles Wesley United Methodist Church and was active until it's closing in 2015.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Lindy Cansler, Aiken; five grandchildren, Melanie Cansler, Alison Cansler, Robert Cansler III, Rebecca Strieby, Stephen Cansler; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Cansler, DeeBee Strieby and a sister-in-law, Fran Leonhardt. In addition to her husband, Margie was preceded in death by her two sons, David Cansler and Robert Cansler, Jr., and her daughter-in-law, Debbie Cansler.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 22nd at 2 o'clock in Aiken Memorial Gardens. The Revs. Jim Bennett and Houston Hill will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Epworth Children's Home (https://www.epworthchildrenshome.org/give/) .
