AIKEN - MARGARET ELSIE HOLSONBACK TIMMERMAN, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 in her home.
A native of Newberry, SC, Margaret was a daughter of the late Willie E. and Elsie Attaway Holsonback. She was the devoted wife of the Reverend Raymond L. Timmerman and had a true servant's heart. She loved working with children in the churches they served across South Carolina. They served at Enoree Baptist in Newberry, Walnut Grove Baptist in Hodges, Central Baptist in Aiken, Bethel Baptist in Olanta, and Killian Baptist and First Baptist churches in Columbia. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always made sure everyone in the family had one of her handmade stockings that she would fill every Christmas.
Survivors include her children, Tony Timmerman (Debra), Dothan, AL, Marsha Temples (Ken), Aiken, Rev. Dr. Michael Timmerman (Karen), Harlem, GA, Danny Timmerman (Melinda), Columbia; nine grandchildren, Beth Goolsby, Jamie Raynor (Brent), Jessica Trahan (Bryce), Karla Miele (Brian), Jeremy Timmerman (Jessi), Andrew Temples, Courtney Parish (Jim), Rebekah Timmerman, Jordan Timmerman; thirteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her beloved husband of 52 years, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bud Holsonback; sister, Katherine McLeod and great-grandson, Tyler Goolsby.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, January 14th beginning at 1 o'clock at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 o'clock with the Reverend Bill Howard III officiating. Interment will be at 4 o'clock in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
