Lois Edwards Obituary

Augusta, GA – Mrs. Lois M. Edwards, 89, entered into rest, October 31, 2025, at her home. Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted Monday morning, November 10th, at 11 o'clock in Pineview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon, November 9th, from 2 until 4 o'clock. Lois was born on December 16, 1935, to the late James Harold Sox and Lillian Muns Sox. Raised in Augusta, she graduated from Richmond Academy and would later move to Merced, CA, where she attended nursing school. Lois made Thomasville, GA her home in 1969 and returned to Augusta in 1979, where she lived until her passing. She retired from St. Joseph Hospital as a Registered Nurse with 40 years of service and she was a faithful member of the Waynesboro Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lois was an avid gardener, known for beautiful azaleas. She enjoyed traveling and she adored her beloved cat "Missy". Lois will be fondly remembered as a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Edwards; her son, James Linton; a daughter, Lois Jean O'Neal; a sister, Jeanette Barton; and a granddaughter, Sarah O'Neal. Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Lillian Linton; a sister, Pricilla Snyr; five grandchildren, Cynthia Morganstern (Joe), Chis Linton (Monica), Josh Linton, Jeff Linton (Stacie), Matthew Linton; six great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Karen Linton.
