Lisa Phillips-Gagne Obituary

Lisa Phillips-Gagne
MCCONNELLS - Lisa Michelle Phillips-Gagne, 54, of McConnells, SC, passed away August 22, 2020.
The family will have a private Celebration of Life service.
Born in Aiken, SC, Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Robert Samuel Phillips, Sr. She worked at Country Cuts and Tan and at Publix in Rock Hill. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and grandchildren, embracing every moment with them. She was "Mama" to many and especially loved her role as Nonna. No one left her presence with an empty stomach. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her smile.
She was like the sun that shined through the clouds after a storm. She loved everyone she came in contact with and, in turn, they loved her.
Survivors include her daughters, LaTisha Anne Ashley (Erik) of Rock Hill, Jenniffer Blake Bodie (her children, Shawn and Owen) of Rock Hill, Elisabeth Miranda Sims (Joey) of Hickory Grove, SC, Caitlin Michelle Bodie of Fort Mill, SC; son, Joseph Adam Bodie, Jr. of the home; grandchildren, Robert Shane and Wyatt Ellis; mother, Mamie Lee Phillips of Aiken, SC; sisters, Rebecca Phillips McNeely (Lee) of McGaheysville, VA and Nancy Phillips Donaldson (Sam) of Martinez, GA; brother, Robert Samuel "Uncle Bubba" Phillips, Jr. of Aiken, SC; nieces and nephews, Daniel Donaldson, Joshua Donaldson (Michelle), Matthew Phillips, Samantha Billiter (Cody), Abigail McNeely (Jon), Sammy McNeely, Sasha Donaldson, Carter McNeely, and Samuel Donaldson.

Mama Lisa, it has been 4 years today that you have been gone and it still does not seem real. I think of you often and want to pull up at your house with Bodie crawl on your couch and spill my guts to you about life, listen to your advice, cry on your shoulder, and wrap it up with a delicious meal that you always made. Please continue to watch over all of us.

It is no surprise to me and others that I think of Lisa often and miss her still. She was such a beautiful, sweet, giving person and I was looking forward to getting to know her better. She now lives a better life but we here will never forget her.

Lisa, where do I start??? 42 wonderful years of friendship. We have had some of the great times together girl friend, cutting school ridding the back roads in daddy’s old ford truck so I could teach you how to drive a stick shift. Sleep overs, trips to the statesman, going skating, swimming in cold creek of course while we were cutting school, omg the pep rally’s, powder puff foot ball, girl we rock it. Friday night foot ball games, of course we had to match. We were inseparable until the Christmas of our Jr year when I got that phone call that you were moving to Alabama with your daddy and you would be by shortly to say goodbye. Boy did the tears start flowing. My whole world came crashing down. Few years went by and you came back with that beautiful baby girl Latisha. We didn’t stand a chance holding her or anything else because daddy took her from us and she was his 24/7. Boy did he love that little girl. Then you moved back to Alabama and crushed us again. Lol... finally settling down in Aiken for many years and we raised our kids together had so many wonderful years together, started raising our grandkids together. You have always been here for me and my family. Any event we had you made the effort to come. The pictures don’t lie. I was truly blessed beyond eternity to have you as my best friend. I love you and will always treasure each and every precious moment we shared. I can’t thank you enough for always being my my side and my family. You were one fantastic mother and nana. You raised some amazing children. They are carbon copies of you. I’m so proud of how strong they are and how well they have handled this. They are a lot strong than me. I promise you I will always be there for them and look at for them. You will always be in my heart. I miss your snaps every day and your comments on our group message, you will forever be in our group message and in my snaps. You may be gone but never forgotten my friend. I hope you, daddy, your daddy, Lisa and Angie are having a wonderful time. Please give them all a big hug and kiss for me and tell them I miss them so badly, and Bill as well. I’m so glad you went on the cruise with us, just as we thought it was daddy’s last big trip and obviously yours too. Who would have ever thought. I love y’all until we meet again RIP

I met Lisa in 2012 at my son Don Perkins house when she came to give the family haircuts. We were friends in facebook and every time I came to Rick Hill and shopped at Publix, I got a big hug. I will miss seeing her smiling face, no one loved their family more than she did or more than thay loved her. I guess God needed an angel and he got one with her . My thoughts and prayers to her whole family. God Bless you all.
