Linda D. Gregory
AIKEN - Linda Darlene Gregory died March 29, 2018 in Aiken, SC. She was born February 26, 1948 in the Bonne Terre Hospital, Bonne Terre, St. Francois County, Missouri to George Aaron Buxton and Peggy Arlene Limbaugh Buxton. After graduating from Farmington High School, she lived in Decatur, IL for the next 23 years. She retired as a financial analyst from The Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC after 25 years of service.
Surviving is her husband of 41 years, Donald Sheridan Gregory of Aiken, SC, daughter Lonni Renee Curry (Robert) of Moweaqua, IL. stepchildren: Thomas Wayne Gregory (Marie Christine) of Maroa, IL, Sherry Anne Gregory of Bloomington, IL, and Shawn Sutton (Tim) of Cerro Gordo, IL.
Also surviving are siblings: James T. LaPlante of Festus, MO, Francis Darlene Cook of Dixon, MO, Cynthia Renee Johnson of Park Hills, MO, and Lisa Anne LaPlante of Park Hills, MO. In addition, she is also survived by many family members including grandchildren, nieces, nephews, as well as cousins found through genealogy research.
She was preceded in death by her biological father George Aaron Buxton, mother Peggie Limbaugh Buxton LaPlante and adoptive father Harold Glenwood LaPlante.
Linda was a great genealogy fan and worked tirelessly for years on the Harris family including the Harris-Dooley feud as well as the Buxton, Leonard, Gunn, Gregory, and other linked families. In addition to genealogy, she loved to garden, read, and spend time with her family and animals.
The family would like to thank her Doctors and their staff for the kindness and compassion shown to her during her illness. It meant so much to her during this very difficult time.
Funeral services and interment will be in Farmington, MO.

My condolences goes to the family. I am so sorry to hear of Linda's passing. Linda was a great help in learning about the Harris family of St. Francois Co., Mo. I will be forever indebted to her for her generous help. God Bless Linda, Don and the entire family.
