Leslie Mitchell Obituary

Frankfort – Leslie Jacob "Jake" Mitchell, Jr., age 84, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dan Luttrell officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
Mr. Mitchell was born in Midway, Kentucky on September 21, 1941, to the late Leslie Jacob Mitchell, Sr. and Edith Mae Rawlings Mitchell. He worked at Randy McNally in skilled trade for 27 years. Following, he worked at Ancient Age Distillery, then was self-employed as a heavy equipment operator, and lastly, retired from Toyota as a mechanic. He was a member of Antioch Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Ann Mitchell; sons, David Wood and Jimmy Bryan; daughters, Pamela Moore (Wayne), Regina Wood, Karen Hernandez (Jorge), Jo Ann Temple, and Mary M. Mattingly (Wayne); brother, Warren "Zeke" Mitchell (Carolyn); sisters, Marilyn Ridney (Gene), Margie Atwood (Jerry), Donna Ashley (Dean), Beverly Toy, and Kathy Mabry (Mike); and by thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by Allen Wood; Edward Mitchell and Larry Mitchell, Sr., and by four grandchildren, David, Kevin, and LeAnn Bingham, and Christopher M. Bryan.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dean Ashley, Mark Toy, Jimmy Bryan, David Wood, Wayne Mattingly, and Jorge Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Moore, Shane Wood, Daniel Wood, Mark Pardi, and Jerry Atwood.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Antioch Church, or your charity of choice.
