Kelvin R. Sides, 70, of Hempfield Township, passed away at 7 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2021, at his residence. Kelvin was born April 18, 1951, in McKeesport, a son of the late Luther and Betty Sides. He married Margie L. (Atkinson) Sides Sept. 21, 2002. Kelvin was a graduate of McKeesport High School, Class of 1970, and received an associate degree from Triangle Technology in Refrigeration, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. He was a veteran of the Air Force, serving as a sergeant during the Vietnam War and was a member of the McKeesport American Legion. Kelvin was employed for many years as a housekeeper at a personal care home in Irwin and enjoyed building model log cabins. Kelvin will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 18 years, Margie L. (Atkinson) Sides; his children, Danny McDonald and wife, Sherri, of Greensburg, Holly Hayford, of Jeannette, Kimberly Zimmerman and husband, Ken, of Latrobe, Cindy Narigon and husband, Phillip, of Jeannette, and Neil McDonald, of Slickville; his five grandchildren; and his siblings, Nancy Benninghoff, of West Virginia, Norman Sides, of Monroeville, Sandy Hines, of White Oak, and Patty Brier and husband, Joe, of Irwin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sarah McDonald. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of ROBERT B.
