David and family, I have fond memories of Laura. She was dedicated to all of you. Her countless hours as room mother and PTA officer and anything else that was needed by for her children's schools. She was a great person I am proud I had the opportunity to know her.

When we were kids, Gretchen & laura would visit us (their cousins) in Atlanta. My older sister and laura had an argument one day (they are about the same age.) But Laura got her revenge. She offered to get ice cream for everyone and said we had chocolate chip.

It turns out that Gretchen, Laura and I got chocolate chip, while Rebecca got vanilla with Ex-Lax (the chocolate kind).

It is a memory of her that I'll never forget because she is so easy, so well liked, that you miss the mischeviousness that is behind some of her actions.

I will miss her greatly. Even though I haven't seen her in a few years, I have very fond memories from our times together in Augusta, our house in Atlanta and at the mountain house and in St. Simons. She was beautiful inside and out.

Dear Herndon family,

You were one of the first families we met on the Island more than 35 years ago and you were outstanding, caring and thoughtful neighbors. Please know our love and prayers are with you at this time. We enjoyed the birthdays that Mead and James shared and always cherished Keller feeling the freedom to come in and watch TV (unannounced) whenever he wanted. David and Laura were (and are) special friends. May God hold you tight in His everlasting arms.

Heaven has gained a special angel from this earth. What a legacy she has left us all to remember. The love she showed so many children at Saint Marks Episcopal Church on any given Sunday and beyond. Knowing her from church and with my own children under her teachings, life through a curve at me when I became a patient in the office she worked for. It was a scary time for my family. Laura's loving kind ways and prayers got us through. Carry in your heart what Laura showed so many and it will always bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart. Our family sends our deepest sympathy to the family.

Laura was such a beautiful person inside and out. She had a kind heart. We are so very sorry for your loss. Last year she made a chicken pot pie for me after I had surgery. It was the best ever. It had a big heart on top made with a cookie cutter, she was so thoughtful. Our thoughts and prayers with David, children, and grandchildren. Keep your sweet memories in your heart, she will always be with you. Our hearts ache for you.
