Larry Benjamin Gregory, Sr.
Aiken - Mr. Larry B. Gregory, Sr., 74, of Aiken, SC, affectionately known by his many friends as "Pa-Pa Smurf", beloved husband of Janet Mae Quackenbush Gregory, entered into rest on Wednesday, November 3, 2021.
Born in Lithonia, GA and a resident of Aiken County, SC, most of his life, he was a son of the late Lamar and Hilda Morrow Duffy. A Vietnam Veteran, he proudly and with honor served his country in the United States Army. He was a Millwright/Pipefitter with Greenwood Construction. Larry had a passion for dirt track racing and was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Larry B. Gregory, Jr., Aiken, SC, Kevin M. Gregory and his wife, Rachel, North Augusta, SC and Kenneth M. Gregory, Batesburg, SC; siblings and their spouses, Mary Carpenter, Waynesboro, GA, Sue and Wayne Steele, Lexington, SC, Rhetta Q. and Wade Gray, Warrenville, SC, Jimmy Lee and Laverne Funderburk, Beech Island, SC and Fran C. and David Lord, Union Point, GA; grandchildren, Cole, Liam and Savannah Gregory and his grandparents who raised him, Frank And Nora Jones.
Friends will be greeted by the family on Sunday, November 7, 2021, beginning at 2 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Various friends are invited to speak and share memories of Larry during the service. Veterans Honors will be accorded by a United States Army Honor Guard.
