Lana Funches
AIKEN, SC - A celebration of life service for Ms. Lana Funches, age 49, will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Zion Field Baptist Church with Rev. John Ira Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Field Cemetery.
Ms. Funches entered into rest on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at her residence. She was an Aiken native and moved back to Aiken after her time in Long Island, NY.
Ms. Funches was the daughter of the late Cleveland Funches and the late Frances Abney Funches. She was a graduate at Aiken High School where she currently holds a record for running track.
Ms. Funches was also an inpatient nurse in New York for six years before relocating to her home town. She was also a dietitian for Aiken Regional Medical Center. Ms. Funches was a faithful member at Zion Field Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Teri Que Hardwick, Warrenville, SC and Aaron Johnson, Aiken; one daughter, Ciara Hardwick, Aiken; two brothers, Cleve Lester Funches, North Augusta, SC and Herbert James Funches, North Augusta, SC; three sisters, Willie Mae Millhouse, Aiken, Ginger Lee Funches, Aiken, Brenda Lee Funches, Aiken; and three grandchildren. Ms. Funches was predeceased by one sister, Zera Mae Key. Pallbearers will include John Ifer Funches, Leonard Grover, Teri Hardwick, Freddie Copeland, Antonio Copeland, and James Funches.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Field Baptist Church.
