Kim Usry Obituary

Mr. Kim Usry, 73, beloved husband of Mrs. Cathy Baxley Usry, entered into rest on Monday, May 5, 2025. Born in Aiken County, SC, he was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow W. and Rachel Usry, and his brother, Ben'h Usry. A memorial gathering to celebrate Kim's life will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC 29829, from 1 to 3 p.m. A private burial will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Kim was a skilled and dedicated pipefitter with the UA Local 150, Plumbers and Steamfitters, until his retirement in 2016. He was a former member of Horse Creek Lodge, #174, Langley, SC. Known affectionately by many as "Killer," Kim had a lifelong passion for the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. One of his proudest outdoor accomplishments was receiving a certificate on May 16, 2022, for shooting a white-tailed deer in Barnwell County, SC, with antlers scoring an impressive 128 3/8 under the Boone and Crockett System. More importantly, Kim was a "New Babe in Christ," and he loved his family. Left to cherish his family with his loving wife, Cathy, are beloved daughters, Kaysie Usry Price (Todd) and Carla Usry Widener; his sister, Kathy Baxter (Butch); two special nephews; and his precious grandchildren, Taylor Widener Pittz (Matthew) and Baxlee Owensby.
