Kenneth Adams Obituary

Kenneth C. Adams, Jr.
AIKEN - Kenneth C. Adams, Jr., 94, passed away June 6, 2018 in hospice care at Trinity on Laurens in Aiken.
Born June 14, 1923 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, he grew up in Warren, Ohio. His college career at The Ohio State University was interrupted by World War II, during which he was a combat engineer in the 1269th Engineer Combat Battalion of the U.S. Seventh Army in France and Germany. After the war, he resumed his mechanical engineering studies at OSU, and married the girl who captured his heart the summer of 1942, Carol Louise Sayers.
Upon graduation in 1948, he entered a training program at Allis-Chalmers in West Allis, Wisconsin, where he spent most of his adult career, rising to Manager of Tractor Engineering on two separate occasions. (He was also Manager of Industrial Transmissions for the Warner Gear Division of Borg-Warner in Muncie, Indiana from 1970-1975.)
After nearly 20 years of retirement living in Leesburg, Florida, Ken and Carol moved to Trinity on Laurens in 2005. On March 16th of this year, Ken and Carol celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary.
Ken is survived by Carol, their two children Deborah Wukovits (William) of Aiken and Philip Adams (Sharon) of Wheaton, Illinois, plus five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to all the staff members and caregivers at Trinity on Laurens, Agape Hospice, Anchor Rehabilitation, and Aiken Regional Medical Center who ministered to Ken during his final weeks on earth.
Memorial and interment plans are pending.
