Kelly Gordon Obituary

Kelly Hart Gordon
CHICAGO, IL - Kelly Hart Gordon, 45, passed away at her home in Chicago on August 3, 2017. Kelly was the daughter of the late Richard W. Gordon of Wilmington, DE and Barbara B. Woolley of Aiken, SC. Born in Newton, MA, she moved to Wilmington, DE at the age of two. Kelly graduated from The Tatnall School, attended Colorado State University and graduated Cum Laude from Widener University, with a B.S. in paralegal studies. She most recently worked as a paralegal for Walgreens at their headquarters in Deerfield, IL.
Kelly was a serial athlete, at various points in her life playing lacrosse, basketball, field hockey and golf, including a recent hole-in-one. She was instrumental in starting the lacrosse program at Christiana High School.
Kelly's passion during her adult life was golden retrievers, two of which, Matea and Hanna, she leaves behind. Through the years, she adopted, fostered and placed many retrievers for several golden retriever organizations, both in Delaware and Chicago.
Her generosity and kind soul will be truly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her mother, Barbara B. Woolley and her stepfather, Clark H. Woolley, of Aiken, SC, her brother, Timothy W. Gordon (Katy), sister, Amy S. Gordon, uncle, Roger B. Gordon, aunt, Nancy Senior, and her beloved niece and goddaughter, Paige W. Gordon, all of Wilmington, DE, uncle Russell C. Bateson (Peggy) of Lexington, VA, numerous extended family members, and her loving companion Michael Conway.
A private service will be held for the family. The family hopes that Kelly's friends will consider a donation in her memory to "As Good as Gold" Golden Retriever Rescue of Illinois, 518 State Route 31 #178, McHenry, IL 60050, or to your local SPCA.

I am so sorry to hear about Kelly's passing. I graduated from Tatnall with her, but I haven't been in touch since then. We had some fun times in high school, and I have good memories of her from those days. My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family and friends.

I have fond high school memories of Kelly, and then skipping a few years, we totally connected over our love of dogs. Her Matea and my Sage were the same age and fast friends. I just hope she's doing more of this now... we shared the nicest feelings o

I knew Kelly through my wife. They shared a beautiful friendship filled with many special memories. Particularly, stories I would hear of their dinners at Woody's Crab House. He vibrant smile and intense care for those she called friends will be sorely missed.

I am truly saddened by Kelly's passing and hold close the memories we made growing up together. A wonderful teammate and friend who exuded grace in all she did. We enjoyed swooning over Duran Duran together, eating wispride on crackers and my fondest memories of all are Memorial Day weekends at Stone Harbor. Kelly taught me what it meant to be young and free. Old friend, I hope your spirit feels young and free evermore. My deepest condolences to the whole family at this difficult time.

To Kelly's family, I am so sorry for your loss. I just found out about this tragedy today and am still in disbelief. I am fortunate to have gotten to know Kelly a little better in recent months. Her team was in my building while their new workspace was being updated and we have several wonderful conversations about life in general. She was a sweet and kind person who I know will be missed by many. May her memory and your faith comfort you during this very sad time. Julie Ciric

To my dear friend Kelly,

Your grace, beauty and extreme kindness will forever live in my heart and all around those who love you. I cherish the fun times we shared together from lacrosse, Tatnall camp, Stone Harbor, consuming ridiculous amounts of candy, Duran Duran, and especially our wonderful dog walks.
Sending my deepest condolences and healing prayers to Barbara, Tim, Amy, Michael, Matea and Hanna

To my very dear friend: Kelly,

Your grace, beauty, and kindness will always live in my heart and all around those who love you. I cherish the fun times we shared together: the lacrosse field, Tatnall camp, Stone Harbor, eating a ridiculous amount of candy, "meatless" lasagna, running up to the stage at Duran Duran, and especially our wonderful dog walks. My deepest condolences to Barbara, Tim, Amy, Michael, Matea and Hanna

Sending love and condolences to Amy, Tim, and Barbara.
Thinking of Kelly's laughter, both her goofy sense of humor as a girl, giggling in the Stone Harbor dunes, and her intelligent, dry wit as a young woman, fighting the good fight with me in Wilmington. May you rest in peace, "Kellville."
Amy, you're in my heart.
Love, Nell Kelley
