Born in Durham, NC and a resident of Aiken County, SC, for the past fifteen years, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Annie Mae Watkins Smith. She retired from the Reaves Company where she was a Supervisor and was a member of the New Hope Gospel Chapel. Katherine enjoyed gardening. In addition to her husband, parents and grands, family members include her children, Ronald Jay Toole, York, SC, Ann T. Joyner, Langley, SC, Brittany N. Toole, San Antonio, TX and Leigh H. Toole and her companion, Kyle, North Augusta, SC and siblings, Margaret Gale Smith, Beech Island, SC and David Michael Smith and his wife, Becky, Timberlake, NC.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, from 4 until 5:30 at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow in the Toole Family Cemetery at 6 o'clock, with Pastors Bob Still and Susan Maddox officiating.
To show appreciation for the care provided to her and her family, Katherine requested that memorials in her memory be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina. (www.hospicecare.net)
