Karon Barton Obituary
AIKEN, SC - A celebration of life service for Mrs. Karon Westbrook Barton age 57 will be held 4:00 pm Friday, February 27, 2015 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Swift and Rev. Taylor Wells officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Barton was entered into rest Tuesday, February 24 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers and was a native and a life long resident of Aiken County.
She was the wife of Mr. Ronnie Barton, and the daughter of Mrs. Ann Holley Westbrook of Jacksonville Beach, Florida and the late Mr. Grafton Westbrook.
Mrs. Barton was a 5th grade school teacher at J.D. Lever Elementary School and had been employed by the Aiken County School District for the past 22 years. She was a member of Cedar Creek Church.
Additional survivors include one son, Josh (Yolanda) Barton, Aiken; three daughters, Brook (Danny) Watson, Warrenville, Mandy (David) Herlong, Edgefield, Courtny (T.J.) Stevens, Aiken; one brother Terry (Deborah) Westbrook, Aiken; one sister, Sharon Westbrook Hayes, Jacksonville Beach, Florida; a sister-in-law, Alice Westbrook, Aiken; ten grandchildren Shelby, Kaytie, Sydney, Torie, Ashby, Weston, Kayden, Addison, Pink, and Naomi. Mrs. Barton was proceeded in death by her brother, Gary Westbrook.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Nathan Hayes, Justin Hayes, Lonnie Westbrook, Jim Westbrook, Daniel Thomas, and Jared Johnson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Christ Central Aiken 3605 Richland Ave. W. Aiken, SC, 29081.
A visitation with the family will take place 6-8 pm this evening Thursday, February 26, 2015 at COLE FUNERAL HOME 1544 UNIVERSITY PARKWAY (118 BY PASS) AIKEN, SC, 29801. 803-648-7175.

I am so sorry that a mother and grandmother that dearly loved her family has left the earth so soon. I know how much she adored all of you. Karon was an honest and caring person who always had a smile on her face. She was good to me and I appreciated her kindness. I know where she is and it is a comfort to know that she is not suffering in any way but is rejoicing in the presence of the One who loves her most. Praying that her family can take comfort in this too.

Our hearts and prayers go out to your family. Mrs. Barton was my daughter's teacher last year and she worked with her many days after school and on homebound. They became close and she said she loved Mrs. Barton and thought of her like her own grandma. I know Karon loved her grandchildren very much and her children as well and spoke of all of you, especially the grand babies, very often. Just talking about you brought smiles to her face. May God bless you all in this difficult time.
