Kai Matsuoka Obituary

Kai Matsuoka
November 28, 1919 -
December 5, 2013
Resident of Lafayette, CA
Kai Kiyoshi Matsuoka passed away on December 5, 2013. Born to Kiyoshi and Teru Matsuoka on November 28, 1919 in Sacramento, CA, Kai was the second of three children and is survived by his nephews Clifford and Wayne Tanaka.
Kai spent World War II in the Tule Lake Japanese internment camp with his family. Fiercely independent in nature, the internment experience motivated him to become a lawyer. Later on, he moved to the Bay Area and was successful in the import business.
His passion was history and law, watching documentaries and western movies. Philosophical in nature, he was proud of his Japanese American heritage. Friendly in nature, all will remember his warm smile and friendly greetings. We miss you, Kai.
A private memorial service will be held.
