Aiken - A celebration of life service for Ms. Judy Herron McLaughlin Marks, age 75, will be held at 7:00 PM Friday August 17, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating. A private interment will be held at the Herron-Scott Cemetery at a later date. Ms. Marks entered into rest on Saturday August 11, 2018 peacefully at her home. She was the wife of the late Harold Douglas McLaughlin and the daughter of the late John Henry Herron and the late Susie Posey Herron. Ms. Marks was a native and a life long resident of Aiken County. She worked at a local bank after she graduated from Aiken High School. She later went to work as a school food service manager for the Aiken County school district. After working at several local schools, Ms. Marks retired from Aiken Middle School in 2003. She was a charter member of Bethel Baptist Church, Aiken, and presently was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church where she was president of the Jubilee Club for nearly nine years. Survivors include two sons: John D. (Tammi) McLaughlin, Aiken, and Toby A. (Rebecca) Marks, Aiken; three grandchildren: Kyle Dawson, Judy McLaughlin, and Esther Grace Marks, and sixteen nieces and nephews.; and her closest friend and niece June New, Aiken. She also predeceased by two brothers, five sisters, five nephews, one niece, both husbands, and a grandson: Joshua McLaughlin. Honorary pallbearers will be the Joy Sunday School Class of Millbrook Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorials be made to The Jubilee Club of Millbrook Baptist Church, 223 S. Aiken Blvd, SE, Aiken, SC, 29803 and to Mead Hall Episcopal School 619 Barnwell Ave NW, Aiken, SC 29801.
