Judith Kapatoes Obituary

Judith (DeSantis) Kapatoes, a cherished pillar of her community and a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Born in 1944 and a graduate of Milford High School, Judith furthered her education at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester. For 30 years, Judith's professional journey at Milford Hospital saw her rise from an X-Ray Technician to an esteemed administrator, touching countless lives with her expertise and compassion.

Judith's heart was always with her family. She was the beloved wife of Ernest M. Kapatoes, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and adventures, including cherished trips to Florida and relaxing days at the beach. She was a loving mother to Cheryl L. Throup of Calabasas, CA, Kevin J. Kapatoes and his wife Melinda of Hopedale, Susan L. Kapatoes of Bellingham, and Jeffrey M. Kapatoes and his wife Melissa of Melbourne, FL. Her legacy continues through her nine grandchildren, Heather, Lauren, Matthew, Niels, John, Payton, Bella, Mady, and Lucas, and her two great-grandchildren, Corbin and Weston, who will forever hold her in their hearts.

Judith's sister, Lois Shannon of Milford, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, will remember her for her unwavering support and the joy she brought into their lives. She was predeceased by her late parents, John and Evelyn (Leoncini) DeSantis, who instilled in her the values of love and family that she carried throughout her life.

Mr. and Mrs. Kapatoes were married for 63 years.

Beyond her family and professional life, Judith's passions were many and varied. She found solace and joy in her garden, where she cultivated not just plants but also the beauty and tranquility that she shared with everyone around her. Her spirit of teamwork and leadership shone brightly as she coached cheerleading and served as a baseball umpire, roles through which she inspired young people and demonstrated her belief in fair play and encouragement.
