Joshua Millard Obituary
Joshua David Millard, loving husband to Rachel Hickerson Millard, fell asleep in death on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
Josh was born in Augusta, Georgia on October 11, 1984, to his loving parents Tim and Gina. Josh dedicated his life to his God Jehovah and was baptized on August 7, 1997. He remained an active member of the North Aiken Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses his whole life. He was a 2001 New System School graduate and received further training in graphic design at a technical college. He worked for Security Federal Bank for eighteen years, most recently in IT at their Operations Center. Josh was introduced to Rachel in May of 2009 and they were married in November of that year. In February 2021, Josh and Rachel welcomed their precious daughter, Haisley into their lives.
Josh was the most humble, kind, loving, and patient man. He was very quiet and shy, but he loved deeply and cared for everyone. He never had a harsh word to say about anyone or anything, though he sighed often when he was distressed. He loved researching, reading, learning, sci-fi, superheros, astronomy, photography, building models, anything tech related, music, playing guitar, baseball, fishing, 3D printing and spending time with his family and friends. He was everyone's tech support and was always ready to hand out an "actually" followed by a corrected fact or detail. He took great pride in his work and was always willing and ready to help. He was never the loudest in the crowd, but he was known and loved by everyone around him.
Josh's family consists of Rachel; Haisley; parents, Tim and Gina Millard; maternal grandparents, Buddy and Ginny Slayton; late paternal grandparents, Roger and Shirley Millard; Rachel's parents, Anthony and Angie Hickerson; her grandparents, Charlie and the late Connie Winn; Rachel's sister Rebekah Hickerson; aunts and uncles, Melissa Hayes (Travis), Anita Lail (Mark), Jim Millard (Dartanette), Matthew Millard (Esperanza), Tanya Curtis (Ken), Angela Hickerson, and the late Gina Graham along with a host of cousins, spiritual family and friends.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, August 2, 2025, beginning at 12:30 P.M. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 4063 Jefferson Davis Highway, Warrenville, South Carolina 29851, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 P.M.
