Joseph Herbert Jackson
WILLISTON - Mr. Joseph Herbert Jackson was buried October 17, 2017, at the Williston Cemetery.
Born in Danville, Virginia he was a son of the late Rawley Lee Jackson, Sr. and Laura Inez Eden Jackson. Mr. Jackson retired after thirty-five years of service as a supervisor in the Power Department at the Savannah River Site. He was a member and Deacon of the Williston First Baptist Church. He loved to travel, enjoyed camping and playing golf. He was also Veteran of the United States Air Force of the Korean War. The family has asked that memorials be given in Mr. Jackson's memory to the Alzheimer's Association 3223 Sunset Blvd. Suite 100, West Columbia, SC 29169.
Survivors include his loving wife of 72 years, Doris Meeks Jackson of the home; daughters Barbara Jackson Kight of Aiken, Debra Jackson Jamison of Williston; son Marvin (Beverly) Jackson of Gaston; grandchildren Tawney Kight (David) Miller, Leigh Kight (Jason) Hucks, Toby Jamison, Jill (Philip) Vaughan, Paige (Conway) McCrary; nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law James Meeks of Williston; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers Rawley Lee Jackson, Jr. and William Harvey Jackson.
