Joseph Grice Obituary
AIKEN - Mr. Joseph Cordell Grice, 82, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Shellhouse Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday at the funeral home with Bishopric Chad Stalvey officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens with military honors and Masonic Rites. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey A. Grice, Jr., Joseph Charles Grice, Jr., Garrett Grice, Christopher Bass, Lee Bass and Devin French. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Payne, Richard Rutland, Price Niece, Don Fields, Ray Cain, Bill Bowers, Edward Grice, James Warren and Buddy Sanders.
A lifelong resident of Aiken County, Mr. Grice was a son of the late Ernest Gary and Marie Alewine Grice. He was a retired maintenance technician with Kimberley Clark and a member of the Beech Island Masonic Lodge No. 391. Mr. Grice was 32 Degree Mason, 14 Degree Scottish Rite and a member of American Legion Post 153. Mr. Grice was a member of the Ladder Days Saints Church, North Augusta Ward.
He is survived by a daughter, Shannon Grice (Al) Caldwell, Jackson, SC; two sons, Jeffrey Alan (Denise) Grice, Sr., Phillip Todd (Michelle Hooper) Grice, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Shelby Grice; grandchildren, Joseph Charles (Shannon) Grice, Jr., Melissa (Jeremy) Tyler, Garrett (Crystal) Grice, Rachel (Jacob) Hassman, Rebekah Grice, Jeffrey A. Grice, Jr., Phillip Todd Grice, Jr., Alexis Hooper, Devin French, Karen Bailey; three great-grandchildren, Nathaniel S. Grice, Joseph C. Grice III, Nolan J. Hassman a sister, Myrtle Mills, Graniteville, SC and a brother, Rev. Thomas C. Grice of Columbia, SC
In addition to his parents, Mr. Grice was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Foster Grice; second wife, Elizabeth B. Grice; a son, Joseph Charles Grice, Sr. and seven siblings.
Memorials may be directed to the Beach Island Masonic Lodge No. 391, 300 Beech Island Ave., Beech Island, SC 29842 or to the American Legion Post No. 153, 111 Langley Dam Rd., Langley, SC 29834.

Joe and I worked together at Kimberly Clark for many years. He was a one of the most dedicated people, to his family, and job, that I have ever known, a man with a heart of gold. He will be missed.
