Joseph A. A. Fournier
Evans, GA - Died on Sunday, December 25, 2022, Joseph Andre Alphonse Fournier, 80, Beloved husband of Lorinda Fournier. In addition to his wife, surviving family members include his children - Elizabeth, Michael (Kim), Michelle (Cal), and Eva. Grandchildren - Jessica, Michael, Megan, and Anna. Family that has passed are parents, Alphonse and Eva Marie, and half-sisters, Agnus, Blanche, and Celia.
Joe was a native of Baltic, Connecticut. Joined the Army in 1959 and had a career until 1979. He became a Registered Nurse in 1981. Joe continued his education and graduated as a Social Worker in 1987 and became a Clinical Social Worker in 1990. Joe worked at the Medical College of Georgia, the Augusta Veterans Administration Hospital, and Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center. He was a Red Cross volunteer from 1993 to 2003 attending 15 disasters as a Disaster Mental Health professional.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Comfort House, 317 Telfair Street, Augusta, GA 30901, or to Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart, 14500 Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19116 -1188, or to the Order of St. Helena, 414 Savannah Barony Drive, North Augusta, SC 29841.
The funeral Mass will be Thursday, December 29, 2022, 2:00 P.M. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Fr. Theodore Agba celebrant. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
