JOHNNY MURRAY Obituary

MURRAY, JOHNNY M. - age 84, of Knoxville passed away suddenly Wednesday morning, November 19, 2014 at his home. Johnny was a veteran of the U S Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. Johnny was an employee of the University of Tennessee and A B Long Construction Company for many years. He loved farming, enjoyed gardening and reading. He was a wonderful neighbor, friend, husband, father and grandfather. Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Anne Henson Murray; parents, Charles Jasper Murray and Hazel Elizabeth Matlock Smith. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Kirby Murray; sons, Charles Grant (Denise) Murray of Bluff City, Gregory John Murray of Oviedo, Florida; granddaughter, Allison Anne Murray; beloved dog, Maggie. Family and friends will gather at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Highland Memorial Cemetery on Sutherland Avenue for graveside services with Pastor Clay Harrington officiating.
