JOHNNY MURRAY Obituary

MURRAY, JOHNNY M. - age 84, of Knoxville passed away suddenly Wednesday morning, November 19, 2014 at his home. Johnny was a veteran of the U S Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. Johnny was an employee of the University of Tennessee and A B Long Construction Company for many years. He loved farming, enjoyed gardening and reading. He was a wonderful neighbor, friend, husband, father and grandfather. Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Anne Henson Murray; parents, Charles Jasper Murray and Hazel Elizabeth Matlock Smith. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Kirby Murray; sons, Charles Grant (Denise) Murray of Bluff City, Gregory John Murray of Oviedo, Florida; granddaughter, Allison Anne Murray; beloved dog, Maggie. Family and friends will gather at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Highland Memorial Cemetery on Sutherland Avenue for graveside services with Pastor Clay Harrington officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church Outreach Program, 9132 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37923.
