Johnnie Young Obituary

G. L. Brightharp & Sons announces the transition of Mr. Johnnie Young, Jr., who entered into rest October 16, 2025. Mr. Young, a native of Edgefield County, attended the Edgefield County Public School System. He worked in Lawn Care, Textile and as a Mechanic. He was a member of Science Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Rosie M. Young; a daughter, Vernitta (Jerry) Moore; two stepdaughters, Iris (Derrick) Williams and Patricia (Bernard) Turner; two brothers, Rev. Ronnie (Mattie) Young and Sammie Young; three sisters, Inez Elam, Sharon Patterson (Melvin Adams) and Karen (Victor) Lewis; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Science Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Lorenzo Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Science Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 2:00 pm until 5:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Professional Services are under the care of G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary-North Augusta.
