John 'Rob' Lowe, Sr.
GRANITEVILLE - Mr. John Robert "Rob" Lowe, Sr., 87, of Graniteville, SC, husband of Dorothy Kight Lowe, entered into rest on Sunday, July 16, 2023.
Born in Aiken County, SC, and a lifelong resident of Graniteville, SC, he was one of twelve children born to the late Arthur and Erma Snelling Lowe. A Korean War Veteran, he proudly and with honor, served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He retired from the Graniteville Company. Rob was also well known for his lawncare service that he ran for many years in the community. He enjoyed shagging, watching any kind of sports, trips to the beach and coaching his sons in Dixie Youth Baseball. Rob was also an avid Braves and Carolina Gamecocks fan.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children and their spouses, Monte and Denise Johnson and Rob and Michele Lowe, a niece, who was more like a daughter, Kim Hart and her husband, Marty, siblings, Nancy Merritt, Debbie Parker and her husband, Don, Larry Lowe and his wife, Glenda and Tony Lowe, grandchildren, Clayton Johnson, BethEllen Johnson, Caroline Lowe, Cooper Lowe, Ryan Grey, Tyler Hart and the late Forrest Johnson.
Friends will be greeted by the family on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, beginning at 10 o'clock at St. Johns United Methodist Church, Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at noon at the church. Pastors Kendell Healy and Alan Quarles will officiate.
It has been requested by the family that memorials be made to St. John's United Methodist Church (www.stohngraniteville.com) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. (www.stjude.org).
