John Hollowell Obituary

Mr. John Lee "Johnny" Hollowell
Warrenville - Mr. John Lee "Johnny" Hollowell, III, 78, loving and devoted husband of Mrs. Patsy Mitchell Hollowell, of Burnettown, SC, entered into rest peacefully at his home on Monday, October 18, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lee Hollowell, Sr, and Dorothy "Dot" Minor Hollowell Gunter.
Left to cherish his memory along with his wife Patsy are two sons: Darren Lee Hollowell (Joy), of North Augusta, SC and Christopher Todd Hollowell, of Burnettown, SC; his siblings: Bobby Hollowell (Ann), Burnettown, SC, Arminta Dowdy (William Earl), and Iris Jean Hollowell, Graniteville, SC; three grandchildren: Jared (Destiny), Jakob, and Emily Hollowell and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Johnny proudly and with honor served his country in the United States Army stationed in Korea as a radio operator. He received commendations for the most physically fit and sharpshooter. He was a retired maintenance supervisor for Quality Metal Products at Proctor and Gamble with thirty-five years of service and part owner of the Country Connection Cafe; for fourteen years. He enjoyed working in his yard, reading, daily trips to the grocery store, watching Westerns and sports, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, grandkids, and his many friends.
Johnny was a good friend to everyone, and he never met a stranger. He was always laughing, joking, and always in a good mood. He would do anything for anyone and did so on a regular basis. He was one of a kind and if you didn't like him, you surely didn't know him. He will be missed terribly and will always remain in our hearts.
The family will greet friends on Thursday beginning at 1 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC 29829 followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2 o'clock in the funeral home chapel. According to Johnny's wishes, he will be cremated following the service.
