John "Matt" Griffin
GRANITEVILLE - Psalm 146:2 ("I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath)
Mr. John Matthew "Matt" Griffin, 49, entered into rest unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Matt was born in Augusta, GA, and a native to the North Augusta/Graniteville area. He was the son of Sue Lee Couch Griffin, of North Augusta, SC, and the late Robert Dunbar Griffin.
He is survived by his loving wife, Stacie Nardi Griffin, a brother Chris Griffin (Michelle) a daughter Taylor Griffin, 3 sons Dustin Griffin (Ashleigh), Matthew Griffin, Nathan Griffin, a brother in law Tim Nardi (Ann), a sister in law Stefanie Canaday several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was also a very proud Pop Pop to his beautiful new granddaughter Layney Kate Griffin (3mo).
After graduating high school Matt went on to work as a Glass blower for Tudor Scientific Glass Company where he spent 32 years doing what he loved with a company and people he loved even more. Matt was also a beloved and dedicated Sunday School teacher for several years at Sweetwater Baptist Church where his infectious enthusiasm, unwavering faith, and love for Jesus touched countless lives. To put it plainly to know Matt was to love him.
A visitation will be held beginning at 2:00 PM, and a Celebration of Life to follow at 4:00 PM, Friday, January 31, 2025, at Sweetwater Baptist Church, 198 Sweetwater Road North Augusta, SC 29860 with Reverend Andy Hunter, Reverend Tim Nardi and Reverend Dr. Paul Noe officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The American Heart Association and Sweetwater Baptist Church.
