Mr. John W. DeLony
AIKEN - Mr. John W. DeLony, 98, of Aiken and a former longtime resident of Cleveland, OH, beloved husband of sixty-eight wonderful years to Mrs. Clarice M. "Teddie" DeLony, entered into rest on June 11, 2018
Born in Dothan, AL. He was the son of the late John W. and Jessie DeLony. He and Teddie were married on Christmas Day of 1942. From 1946 until 1989 they were residents of Cleveland, OH. In 1989 John and Teddy came to call Aiken home. They became active members of Aiken's First Baptist Church. Following John's retirement, they began to travel extensively throughout the world. He never turned down a chance to get out to visit new places and form new friendships.
His faith in God was an important part of his life. For years he taught an adult Sunday school class at his church in Cleveland and loved being part of the church family at First Baptist Church in Aiken.
Family members include a son, Eric Neil DeLony, Catonsville MD, daughters, Adrianne Knapp (Bob), Livonia, Ml and Starlyn Logan (Terry), Winsted, CT; eight grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren.

I certainly missed seeing Mr. DeLony when I left my job at First Baptist. He always had a kind word for those he ran into.

Remembering all the wonderful family visits we shared with Uncle Johnny and Aunt Ted. His life was so full and rewarding. You will be missed by many.
