A First Cousin, born same year, same middle name, an easy conversation about our families and transit through life, a first stop off oasis from arrival from Baltimore, a generous host and a hopeful spirit.
Selby and I will never forget John Edward Bell.
May God bless the Bell and Lewis families always.

It’s God’s Will And We Must Comply
By: Charles G. Turner, Sr.
Life is uncertain,
But as sure as we are born one day we must die
Sometimes we sit and wonder why
The fact is it’s God’s will and we must comply.
Throughout our lives we live through happiness and sadness
And many toils and strife
And when our earthly life is over we enter into our “eternal life”
Whenever a loved one or friend makes their earthly depart
It is natural for it to bring hurt and sorrow to our heart
And to deal with our loss we grieve, mourn, and cry
In all essence we must remember this is God’s will
And we all must comply
For those of us that are left behind
We must cherish the special memories
And keep them all in mind
Just remember it is not for
us to question why we have to die
It’s God’s will and we all have to comply
May God Bless and comfort all of you

Condolences and Prayers to the Bell Family on the transition of our dearly beloved Cousin John E. Bell. Whereas, God in His infinite wisdom and divine love, has called from our circle of faithful first Cousins. Our chain has been broken and we are sadden, yet we know that we will see him again.
John was quiet, humble and short in statue, yet he stood very tall and well respected as an educator within the Aiken County Public School District, where his career afforded him to serve as the firm, strict and caring Assistant Principal of North Augusta High School. Oftentimes, when we´d meet or have a conversation with a Savannah River Site employee that grew up and attended North Augusta High, we asked if they knew Mr. Bell. Several would reply,
"Yes, I visited his office on several occasions when I got into mischief and he didn´t play around!" Other responses would be "If it wasn´t for Mr. Bell, there´s no telling where I would have ended up." Or, "I´m thankful that Mr. Bell was tough to be so short in statue or I could have been in the slammer."
We´re definitely going to miss John from attending our annual Jones Family Reunions, Family Christmas Dinners and from our Voorhees College Reunions and definitely from Church. We´re so very proud that he along with his 1969 Classmates of Voorhees College were honored as the first Golden 50th Class Reunion in November 2019. They were privileged to wear Gold cap and gown, as they marched in the 2019 graduation ceremonies, where my husband, Tyrone received his Bachelors of Science degree in Organizational Management. This was such a great time of celebration for our Family.
John has earned his wings to be with His Heavenly Father and with his parents, Fred & Ida Bell, his sister, Monique and all Family members that awaited his arrival. We loved him but God loved him best. Sleep in Peace Dear Cousin, we´ll see you later.
