John Andrews Obituary

John Clayton Andrews Sr.
AIKEN - John Clayton Andrews Sr., 72, was called to the gates of heaven on April 17th, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. Before joining the Lord, he rested peacefully at home, with the love of his life, Sandy, by his side.
John is survived by his adoring wife Sandy, his four children Jenny (Todd), Kim (Eric), John (Erin) and Jeff (Kelsey) as well as his 5 grandchildren Brady, Carter, Saoirse, James and Noa. John is now reunited in heaven with his 6th grandchild Paxton and his loyal dogs Abby and Libby.
John was born on August 21st, 1951, in Sterling, Illinois to parents James and Carol Andrews. An avid athlete, he spent his high school and college years on the basketball court. After finishing his collegiate career he went on to leadership roles with M&I Data Services before creating Cserv Corporation, a software development company. He completed his professional career in project management with FIS Global.
After years of hard work and dedication to his career, he and his soul mate Sandy retired to the South for a life filled with golf, sunshine, dancing to the oldies, and endless amounts of time to share with each other. There are no words to express the void he has left for his surviving loved ones. Always the most fun person in the room, he will truly be missed by those whose lives he has touched. Until we meet again, we will raise our vodka tonics in our shotgun shell glasses to your memory.
Family and friends will gather at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Sterling, IL on May 17th, 2024 at 1:30pm for a private service.
"Let me live forever in Your sanctuary, safe beneath the shelter of Your wings!" Psalms 61:4

Dear Sandy and Family, Randy and I were so saddened to hear of John´s passing. He always had a kind word and smile any time we saw him in the fitness center or in the neighborhood. You and John put up a valiant fight. He is assuredly smiling down on you Sandy. You will always have your memories and love to keep him forever present in your heart. Our deepest sympathies to you and his extended family. God Bless you, you are in our thoughts and prayers, Janet and Randy Wright.
