Joel Keenan Obituary
AIKEN, SC - Mr. Joel Burt Keenan, 43, died Sunday, November, 6 2016.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Young officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Veronica Wingard Keenan; a daughter, Megan Voldness, Aiken; three sons, Joseph Keenan, Jackson, SC, Jesse Keenan, Aiken, Jimmy Keenan, Beech Island; his mother, Linda Geisler (Bill) Hair; a grandchild, Colton Bridges; sister, Holly (Chris) Beheler, Aiken and a brother, Tyler (Christine) Hair, Warrenville, SC; nephew, Will Hair, nieces, Emma Grace Hair, Claire Beheler; aunt, Jackie Keenan; uncle, Kelly Keenan.
He lost a long battle with drug addiction which led to his death.
Joel was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Bert Keenan; stepfather, Charles Victor Clifton, paternal grandparents, Burley and Sally Keenan; maternal grandparents, James and Thelma Geisler and his paternal step grandmother, Phyllis Clifton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Aiken County Animal Shelter, 333 Wire Rd., Aiken, SC 29801.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM at SHELLHOUSE-RIVERS FUNERAL HOME, 715 E. PINE LOG RD., AIKEN, SC 29803

Linda many people are saddened by Joel's passing and wishing it had not came about.
I hadn't seen him in several years so I remember him as you and your family, as the fun loving young man who put family first and friend to all. His death being a tragedy any way you look at it. He leaves us all with the thoughts of, If only, what if, and why. Only God knows and surely he will see you and your family through these troubling times and receive Joel for the man he truly was. Rest in peace my friend.

You sure will be missed and remembered for all the love and laughs we all had Joel!! So many memories to love and share about my cousin and one of my childhood best friends!!
