Joan Ray Obituary
Aiken - BETTY JOAN WALKER RAY (SHARPTON), 82, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
A native and lifelong resident of Aiken County, Joan was a daughter of the late Otis and Libertas Bonnett Walker. She retired from Therm-O-Disc and attended Levels Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Ann Wilson (Charles), Ridge Spring; a son, Bill Ray (Wendy), Aiken; four grandchildren, Dustin Ray (Kathryn), Brittany Byrd (David), Allen Wilson, Kele Wilson; two great grandchildren, Hunter Gagnon, Kaiden Gagnon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, V. J. Ray, Sr. a son, Van Ray and a granddaughter, Erica Wilson Gagnon.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, December 10th from 6 until 8 o'clock at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon, December 11th at 1 o'clock at Levels Baptist Church with The Rev. Clint Bartlett officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charlie Richards, Ben Richards, Joe Walker, Wylie Ray, David Ray and Wilbur Ray.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Levels Baptist Church, 2456 Levels Church Rd., Aiken, SC 29801
