Joan Herring Obituary
NORTH AUGUSTA - Joan Herring passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, in East Hanover, NJ. Born in Augusta, Georgia, in 1943, Joan grew up in North Augusta, South Carolina.
Joan began her career at The Augusta Chronicle/Herald and retired from the Newhouse group in 2004.
Joan is survived by her three sisters Judy Timmons, Janis Brennan, and Jennifer Herring; brother-in-law Thad Timmons; niece Rebecca Timmons; nephews Stuart and his wife Chermarie Timmons, Hilary and his wife Molly Brennan, and William Durnin; great-nephews Allen Timmons, Sean Timmons, Jason Brennan, and Theo Durnin; as well as numerous cousins, friends, and former colleagues in North Augusta, New Jersey, Atlanta, and elsewhere.
A graveside service will be held at Westover Memorial Park, Augusta Georgia on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 12:00 P.M.
