Jewel McIver Obituary

JACKSON – Mr. Jewel "Donny" McIver, age 64, beloved husband for 44 years to Mrs. Kay Glazener McIver, entered into rest on Saturday February 20, 2021 at his home in Jackson, SC. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Donald Bret McIver, William David (Kendra) McIver; brothers, Bill (Nadine) McIver, his twin Ronny (Rose) McIver, Darren (Sherry) McIver, Randy Cunningham; step mother, Elaine Reynolds McIver Vander Ploeg; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Jewel Lee McIver; mother, Marguerytte Davis Freda; and sisters, Jenny Watts, Maxine Lee, Cathy Williams and Beth Peterson. Mr. McIver was a proud Gideon and was a past Master of the Hopewell Lodge # 127. He was also a member of Jackson First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School for 42 years. He was a member of the Local Pipefitters and Steamfitters Union #150 and was an Adjunct Professor for the University of Southern Illinois. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he impacted in the 64 years God gave him on earth. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday February 23, 2021 at 1pm at Jackson First Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Henderson and Dr. Kenneth Klingler, Pastor Al Branson and Pastor Marion Britton officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Jackson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening February 22, 2021 from 6-8pm at the church. Pallbearers will be: Bill, Ronny and Darren McIver, Harold and Garry Glazener and Ricky Lee. Honorary Pallbearers will be his sisters in law: Nadine, Rose and Sherry McIver, Susie and Pat Glazener and Betty Jean Lee. Memorials may be made to Jackson First Baptist Church at PO Box 130.
