AIKEN, SC - Funeral Services for Deacon Jesse Craig will be held 1pm Friday, February 19, 2016 at Second Baptist Church, 425 Hampton Ave NW - Aiken, SC (Viewing 12-1PM) with Rev. Dr. Douglas Slaughter, Pastor, Eulogist and Rev. Donald Brooks, Presiding.
Burial will follow in Jessamine Memorial Gardens.
Deacon Jesse Craig was born in Jackson, SC on September 16, 1922. He departed this life Monday, February 15, 2016 at Azalea Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation in Aiken, SC.
He was the son of the late Ruben Craig and Armanda Callahan Craig. His siblings that preceded him in death are Cassie Greene, Ann Wilson, Ruby Helme, Emma Coakley, Estus Craig, Lolice Craig, and Henry Craig. His beautiful surviving sister is Ola M. Hazard.
He attended the Fairfield School in Jackson, SC. Jesse and Irene Eubanks Craig were united into holy matrimony for 57 years. One daughter was born to this blessed union. He retired from the United States Federal Court System as a bailiff.
His wife, Irene Eubanks Craig, preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving daughter, Audrey C. (Gene A.) Bell; granddaughter, Dana J. Bell-Blair; great-grandchildren, Christopher N. Bell, Jania R. and Carter M. Bell-Blair, all of Aiken, SC; sister, Ola M. Hazard, Atlanta, GA; sisters-in-law, Rev. Ruth Mayo, San Bernardino, CA, Marie E. Stevens, Freeport, NY, Louise E. Williams, Columbia, SC, and Janie Eubanks, Aiken, SC; and brother-in-law, Franklin Eubanks, Columbia, SC.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-7:30pm on Thursday.
Friends may call the residence, 1004 Sundy Ave, NE, @ 803-649- 5772 after 5 PM each day or JACKSON BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, 126 Fairfield St, SE, Aiken, SC 29801 @ 803-649-6123 beginning 3pm Thursday.

Jessie Craig was the type of person you never forgot, once you met him. His kind, soft spoken manner, was extraordinary. I am proud to have known this man & I join his friends & family in mourning his passing. There is no doubt that his reward is a great assurance to us all.

Mr Jessie was a wonderful person. He was a friend of my father Lemire Scott. He always brought to family gatherings a strawberry cake dessert. I will miss him. May God be with his family during this time.
