GROVETOWN, GA - Mr. Jerry Rodney Pryor, 75, of Grovetown, GA, entered into rest peacefully, on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, with his wife and best friend of ten years, Mrs. Donna Kay Nichols Pryor, holding his hand.
Born in and lifelong resident of the C.S.R.A. and a graduate of Langley-Bath-Clearwater High School, he was a son of the late John "Pete" and Florine Holley Pryor. He was a member of Langley First Baptist Church, attended Warren Baptist Church and retired form the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local #1579. Jerry was an avid Carolina Gamecock fan and enjoyed fishing and traveling and of course watching the Gamecocks. He also enjoyed hot air ballooning, where he met Donna.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Keri Joyner, North Augusta, SC and Rodney Pryor, Burnettown, SC; step-children, Amy Chase and her husband, Steven, Martinez, GA and Wesley Looper, Grovetown, GA; sister, Sonja Finley and her husband, Bobby, Easley, SC; grandchildren, Alex, Allison, Savannah, Abbie and Hudson, mother-in-law, Mary Maxey and her husband, Charles, Martinez, GA; sister-in-law's, Janis Pryor, Martinez, GA and Deborah Tabor and her husband, Donnie, Evans, GA and brother-in-law, Dan Nichols, Augusta, GA.
In accordance with his wishes, Jerry will be cremated and the family will receive friends on Friday, March 17, 2017, beginning at 2 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3 o'clock in the chapel. Rev. Charlie Kelley will officiate.
