His signature phrases, such as "Blessed and highly favored" and "Ciao. Bella," still echo in the hearts of those who loved him. Always sharply dressed. Jerome took pride in his appearance, his home, and his spotless car. He carried himself with integrity. compassion, and class. He was a proud father whose greatest joy was found in his children: Jamite Davon Patten of Monetta, SC: Sheldon Undray "Pooh" (Debra) Patten of North Augusta. SC; Quintina La Shaun Patten of Augusta, GA: John Allen Jackson of Aiken, SC: and Mautrice Keyshaun Thomas of Aiken, SC. He adored and was adored by his fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two beloved grandsons. D'Angelo Rashad Washington and Sheldon Undray Patten Jr. Professionally, Jerome worked as a Plant Supervisor at Carlisle and retired with honors, recognized for his excellent leadership and service. He was also an avid trumpet player, a talented cook-famous for his turkey wings, dirty rice, and potato salad- a basketball enthusiast, a grill master, and a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was also a member of a local band during his earlier years. Jerome is survived by his wife of many years, Barbara Ann Patten, and his devoted longtime companion. Michelle Laverne Jackson, who lovingly cared for him through his final days. His siblings also carry on his legacy: Mary Louise Patten Carr (Graniteville, SC). Mattie Bell Patten Cheatham (Edgefield. SC/Augusta, GA), Sharon Evett Patten (Victor) Washington (Lexington, SC), Juliana Patten (Greenwood, SC), Vanessa LaVerne Patten (Augusta, GA), and Priscilla Patten (Sumter, SC). He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Patten. To his family, he was the calm in the storm. To his friends, he was respected and admired. And to all who knew him, he was simply unforgettable.
