Jean Strong Obituary

Mrs. Jean Miriam Strong, 83, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 17th, 2025. Jean was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. In addition to her parents Christine and Marvin Johns, Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Lee Strong; as well as her siblings, Bo Johns and Roy Johns; and her granddaughter, Sandy Rucker. She is survived by her loving children, Debbie Holcombe (Brian), Gary Strong (Dee), and Lynn Winburn. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Tina Tucker (Kevin), Alicia Duplisea, Christian Strong (Madison), Sydney Strong, Meghan Strong, Randy Rucker, and Darrell Strong, as well as her ten great-grandchildren. All of her grandchildren brought her immense pride and happiness. Known affectionately as "Ma Jean" by all who knew her, Jean was a homemaker who dedicated her life to her family and creating a warm and welcoming home. Her love for Jesus and her devotion to reading the Bible were central in her life. In her earlier years, Jean found joy in being outdoors. She also loved to dance. She was the host to many family gatherings during the holidays, where her home was filled with laughter and love. In accordance with her wishes Jean will be cremated and her family plans to hold a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you honor Ma Jean by donating to a charity of your choice.
