Jean Currier Obituary
AIKEN - Jean Mary Currier, 79, beloved wife of Donald G. Currier passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday morning, July 22, 2023 following an extended illness.
Born in Yonkers, New York on April 28, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Fekety. Mrs. Currier was a retired bank teller. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Help of Christians Church. Jean and her husband Don fostered over 50 children during their lifetime. She was a Board member of the Aiken Community Playhouse. She was a talented craftswoman who shared her sewing talent in the Playhouse Costume Dept. and at Aiken's Makin'. She was a sharp card player who loved playing cards with her friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Todd Anthony Currier and Ryan Patrick Currier both of Michigan a daughter Traci Anne (deceased) five grandchildren, Shienne, Mark, Autumn, Jasmyne and Knox and two greatgrandchildren, Avery and Sophia and a sister, Rosemary Kennedy of Michigan.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11:00am at Historic St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, 125 Park Ave SE, Aiken with the Very Rev. Father Richard Wilson as celebrant.
Final commendation and farewell will follow in Calvary Cemetery, 1255 University Lane, Aiken, SC 29801.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Friday evening, July 28, 2023 at the Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (803) 649.6234. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:15pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Children's Place, 310 Barnwell Ave NE, Aiken, SC 29801
