James C. "Jimmy" Sanders, Jr.
CLEARWATER, SC - Mr. James C. "Jimmy" Sanders, Jr., 80, of Clearwater, SC, beloved husband of sixty-years to Mrs. Sherry Sanders, went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, June 28th, 2016, in the comfort of his home.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Clearwater, SC, he was a son of the late James C. Sr. and Margaret Johnson Sanders. He honorably, proudly and with pride, served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Jimmy was a member of Clearwater First Baptist Church and retired from Guilford Mills where he was a Maintenance Supervisor. He loved horses and Camaros, enjoyed playing the drums at the American Legion Post #63 with his buddies John Benefield and Charlie Nimmons, was an avid NASCAR fan, Dale Sr., being his most favorite driver. More than anything however, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Marty Sanders and his wife, Andrea, Jackson, SC, Debra Roed and her husband, Jim, Willow Springs, NC and Darla Sellers, Bath, SC; sister, the late Barbara S. Boyles, grandchildren, Jason Cunningham and his wife, April, Monty Sanders, Casey Sellers, Marcus Sanders, Chassadi Sellers, Jacob Roed and Meghan Sherrill and her husband Matt, great-grands, who he dearly loved, Caleb and Caselyn Sellers, Paisley and Grayson Cunningham and Lyric Clack, special aunt, Louise Knowles, nephew, the late Baby Boy Knowles and let us not forget his four-legged son, Jose;!
The family will greet friends on Thursday, June 30th, 2016, from 6 until 8 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on (today) Friday, July 1st, 2016, at 11 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, with Mr. Alan Golden officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Jeff Johnson, Jaime Johnson, Rick Cadle, Larry Britt, Marvin Herndon and Jerry Lombardi. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Phil Williams, Tim Knowles, Gary Herndon, Milton Maroney and Rusty Britt.
Flowers are welcome or if you desire to do so, memorials may be made to Clearwater First Baptist Church or the Glory Land Singers.
