James Landrum Obituary

Goose Creek, SC – Funeral Services for James Franklin Landrum, Sr., 87, who entered into rest July 8, 2025, will be conducted Friday morning, July 25, 2025, at 10 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel, Rev. Roy Kiser. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park with Veterans Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mr. Landrum was born January 7, 1938, in Augusta, GA to the late Whitfield and Marjorie Landrum. He served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Landrum retired from a 41-year career as Operations Manager with SCE & G. Jim lived a simple modest life whose passions included fishing, country music, Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves and the love of his family, friends, and longtime neighbors. He was often found sitting on his sunny porch sharing a beer and a laugh with his family and neighbors. Jim was a creative thinker, inventor, and problem solver around his home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Janice Landrum, Shirley Landrum, Margaret Landrum and Ann Landrum Smith; daughter, Jamie Ann Bowman; grandson, Justin Lee Bowman; siblings, Emily Sanders, Francis Crouch, Barbara Cloy, Betty Thompson, W.M. Landrum and Margie Strickland; son-in-law, Jim Kirchner. Survivors include his daughters, Karen Simmers (Bob) and Dawn Kirchner; sons, Frank Landrum (Kim) and Steven Landrum; grandchildren, Jennifer Abney, Amber Kirchner, Tyler Landrum, Thomas Vincent, Garrett Kirchner and Travis Leon Bowman; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Abney. Pallbearers will be Tyler Landrum, Thomas Vincent, Garrett Kirchner, Frank Landrum, Steven Landrum, Bob Simmers. In lieu of flowers the family requests heartfelt expressions of a fond memory be shared with surviving family members, donation to Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, SC, or living memorial given in his honor.
