James Jones Obituary

Mr. James Marvin Jones, 90, beloved husband of Mrs. Sarah Shortt Jones for seventy-one years, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. He was preceded in death by his six sisters, three brothers, and a grandson, Dalton Gregory Jones. The family will greet friends on Saturday morning, November 1, 2025, beginning at 10 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, South Carolina 29829, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11 o'clock with Pastor Charles Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, South Carolina. Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Paul Cook, Tyler Cook, Lane Cook, Lucas Jones, Chase Sizemore, Graham Sizemore. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the First Baptist Church Augusta Adult choir and the Fa Lo Ho Sunday School Class. Left to cherish Mr. Jones' memory, along with his wife, Sarah, are his children, Gregory Marvin Jones, of Fripp Island, South Carolina, Tammy Jones Cook (Kenny), of Aiken, South Carolina, and Allison Jones Sizemore (Ernie), of Orlando, Florida; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Jones was born in Bath, South Carolina to the late Lewis Cleveland Jones, Sr. and Sebell Wilson Jones. He was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church, Augusta, Georgia, and their Adult Choir and the Fa Lo Ho Sunday School Class. He was the retired Owner and Operator of Marvin Jones Furniture Company for forty-two years. He was a loving and dedicated husband,father, and grandfather. Above all he loved Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
