James Timothy "Jim" Cochran
AIKEN, SC - James Timothy "Jim" Cochran, age 78, entered into rest peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
Mr. Cochran was born October 27, 1938 in Aiken, SC to the late Alex Maston Cochran, Jr. and the late Grace S. Cochran. He was a life-long area resident and retired from Graniteville Company after 30 years. Additionally, he was a self-employed carpenter from 1986 - 2008. Mr. Cochran was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and enjoyed working, gardening and will be remembered as a good businessman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Victoria Bowers; and three brothers, Harry, Robert, and George Cochran.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Cochran; a daughter, Pauline Cochran, Aiken, SC; three grandchildren, Eric Cochran (Shannon), Timothy Alex Cochran, and Abby Elizabeth Cochran, all of Aiken, SC; two great-grandchildren, Mallory and Bradley Cochran; two sisters, Barbara Cochran, Winston-Salem, N.C. and Alice Hallman (Brice), Batesburg-Leesville, SC; two brothers, Alex M. Cochran III and Charles Cochran (Diane), all of Batesburg, SC; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the Morris Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 at the church until the hour of service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Bethel Baptist Church, 1127 Bethel Church Rd, Aiken, South Carolina 29801.
