Terry,
I don´t know if you´ll receive/see this, but I was trying to find a way to say "Hi" to you, and accidentally found this! I am so sorry to learn of your loss. My husband of two years, Daniel, died at 64 from a prescription medicine given to him after surgery for a mild stroke. (Do NOT take Amiodarone for ANYTHING! It causes lungs to fill with liquid, and it´s terminal.) I was reaching out to say "Hello," couldn´t find your address, and this page popped up. I´m still on Den Hill Trail in Gaffney. We had almost finished remodeling this house, and I had to finish it without him. He died in the middle of December, and in January, I was in the hospital with intestinal problems and many surgeries...MUCH better now! Please try to contact me, OK?? -Donna Lee Houle-Angus

Like Paul Pinkney (was Miles your older brother?), I too learned computer programming from Jack McGrath in high school. I went on to receive a B.S. in Computer Science from CSU. Mr. McGrath was definitely one of the most supportive and memorable teachers at Broomfield High School. I thank him for the generosity of his time and effort; it made a big difference in my life. Terry, my sincere condolences to you. You too helped make a difference. It's funny how easily I can picture the two of you, despite the five decades since I last saw you both.

Jack McGrath provided the foundation for my career. I had begun programming at a young age on a Commodore VIC-20, and fortunately for me, when I entered Broomfield High School, Jack was there to teach me all sorts of programming languages, even teaching me outside school hours. He even helped me get my first programming job. He was willing to help anyone who would help themselves. He was kind, friendly, funny, dedicated, and oh-so-knowledgeable. I was proud to be one of his "units," and it was a pleasure to return to Broomfield High to visit him a few times while I was in college. He was one of those teachers who truly made a difference. My deepest sympathies. He will be missed. Oh, and go Celtics!
