Jack Burns Obituary
AIKEN, SC - A celebration of life service for Mr. Jack Edwin Burns, age 64 will be held 6:00 pm Thursday April 13, 2017 at Aiken Church of Christ with Minister Craig Middleton and Minister Daniel Burns officiating. Interment will be held private at a later date. Mr. Burns was the husband of 45 years to Mrs. Dorothy Brew Burns, Aiken and a son of the late Mr. William Samuel Burns and the late Mrs. Audrey Andrews Burns. He was a born in Madison TN and had made Aiken County his home for the past 30 years. Mr. Burns entered into rest peacefully at his residence Monday April 10, 2017 surrounded by his family. He had retired from Westinghouse at the Savannah River Plant with 9 years service as a Nuclear Reactor Manager. After retirement Mr. Burns worked at the Hotel Aiken as the Night Auditor for 9 years. He was a member of the Aiken Church of Christ. Additional survivors include three sons, Samuel Keith (Colleen) Burns, Myrtle Beach, Daniel Paul (Lauri) Burns, Porter, TX, Michael Jerome (Kimberly) Burns, Clover; one daughter, Brenda Burns, New Ellenton; one brother, Joe Burns, Madison, TN; one sister, Sheryl Lee, Old Hickory TN; ten grandchildren. Mr. Burns was predeceased by one brother, Johnny Louis Burns, and one sister, Barbara Rayburn. A visitation with the family will take place 4:00-5:30 pm Thursday April 13, 2017 at Aiken Church of Christ. Ms. Dolly and family, I am very sorry for your loss. Mr. Jack was a great man and it was my honor to have met him and Ms. Dolly. He will be missed by so many. RIP Mr. Jack and fly high with the angels. Prayers for everyone that knew him.

Uncle Jack was a fine man and loving uncle. His wit cannot be compared to others. laughing and full of mischief but loving and kind to others. through the years we were friends as well as uncle and niece. now he is with granddaddy and mother burns as well as sister and other family members that have gone on before being as mischief as always. love you Uncle Jack. Jack was my closest Uncle. He was 4 years older than I and of course I followed him around and really looked up to him. I learned so much from Jack. I'll never forget the wonder I felt when he introduced me to the new tech of the day, his 8-track tapes of Jimi Hendrix and Jefferson Airplane. I used to spend hours up in his room playing music when he was away. He never minded me using his things (even when I broke something) :) RIP uncle Jack.
