Jack Bevington
GRANITEVILLE - Mr. Jack Edward Bevington, 86, of Graniteville, SC, husband of the late Myrtle Pore Bevington, entered into rest on Sunday, October 29, 2017.
Born in Beaver Falls, PA, a son of the late James "Jim" and Mary Mason Bevington, he had been a resident of Kittanning, PA, before relocating to the CSRA in 2001. A Korean War Veteran, he proudly and with honor served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from the Corps of Engineers after over twenty-years of service as a Lock and Dam Operator. Mr. Jack enjoyed a round of golf and fishing. A talented Musician, he played the guitar and enjoyed singing country and western music.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Mitchell Bevington and his wife, Tina, Graniteville, SC, Jack E. Bevington, Jr., Graniteville, SC, the late Susan Bevington and the late Michael Bevington, a sister, Beverly Williams, Worthington, PA; grandchildren, Anna Bevington and Brent Smith and great-grands, Callie and Laine Smith.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 2, 2017, beginning at 10 o' clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville SC, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11 o'clock in the chapel. Pastor Dexter Lambert. Interment will follow in the Historic Graniteville Cemetery, Graniteville, SC.
It has been asked that memorials in memory of Mr. Jack be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. (www.woundedwarriorprject.org)
