Isac Flores Obituary

Isac Flores, 87, of Kissimmee, FL, formerly of Bethlehem, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, November 6th at Osceola Regional Medical Center. Born in Guavate, Puerto Rico, to the late Pablo Flores and Camila Fontanez Flores, Isac came to settle his roots in Bethlehem, PA. He was married for 62 years to Gloria Maldonaldo Flores, and they had nine children; William Flores (Nubia), Isabel Flores Garriga (William), Nancy Keller (Brian), Millie Strunk (Myles), Paul Flores (Karen), Sam Flores, Gloria Cordero (William), and Angel Flores (Iris). Isac is predeceased by his son, Jaime, who awaited him at Heaven's gates with open arms. Isac took great pride in his 17 grandchildren and his 14 great grandchildren. As a committed husband and father, Isac always put his family first. He instilled a strong moral compass and a hard work ethic in his children and grandchildren. For 38 years, Isac worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corp., where he spent most of his career in the Coke Works. Upon retiring in 1992, Isac moved with Gloria to Kissimmee, FL. He then embarked on a 17 year career with the Avis Car Rental Agency. He tremendously enjoyed golf, gardening, and was an avid dominoes player. As a devout Catholic, Isac was a member of the Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Kissimmee, FL, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Organization. For many years, Isac was also a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church in Bethlehem, PA. While there he was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Cursillo Organization. Until death, Isac remained unyielding to his faith and religious beliefs. A viewing will be held on Monday, November 9th at Porta Coeli Funeral Home, 2801 East Osceola Parkway, Kissimmee, FL from 5:30 pm-9:00 pm. Isac will then have a second viewing at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA on Thursday, November 12th from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 13th at Holy Infancy Catholic Church, 312 E. Fourth St., Bethlehem, PA. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
