I’ve learned of Mrs. Stewart’s passing only recently. I had the pleasure of working as her personal assistant for a time when she was retired but still very much involved in Ester Lauder Corp. she was and will always be the most inspiring Person I’ve ever worked with. She had a stellar life and I’m grateful to have known her!

What a treat it was to be around Ida. She was a delight to know and had a way of making everyone feel special. I will miss her and am fortunate to have been a friend.

My mom, Caroline Browne (married name Furness) and Ida met at Winthrop College when they were both teaching there, and became fast friends for the rest of their lives. I met Ida when I was 12, and found her to be kind, brilliant, and a complete delight! She became an honorary grandmother to our son, and will be missed by our whole family.

Ida was my mentor from the time I was 20 years old. I was in the audience at a training seminar for beauty advisors in Philly and she brought me up in front of the class and asked me teach for a few minutes. That was it! I was bitten by the show biz bug and followed her up to New York and worked for Estée Lauder for the first 10 years of my career. She was so inspirational and gave her "contagious" energy to all that she touched. I miss her now and will always feel that she opened the door to the life I have today.
Her spirit lives on in all that touched.

Ida Stewart was "one of a kind" and heaven will surely be a far more lively place now that she has arrived there!

I have worked at the Estee Lauder Companies for 42 years and had many trips and experiences with Ida when she would visit our Georgia and Florida territories. I got to witness Ida up on stage at one of our events with a bowl of water and her washing her hair with our Single Application Shampoo, doing her makeup without a mirror and many more wonderful fun happy memories!! You were one in a million Ida and will always be missed!!

Ida took me under her wing very early on in my ELC career. She always told me pay it forward . Part of the work i now do in the establishment of the CEO Rotation Program is doing just that. So grateful to Ida. Phebe Farrow Port

I had the pleasure of caring for Ida's sister, Mary, on her final years. I met Ida during this time and became fast friends. I was fortunate to have visited her a couple of times in her home in Clinton. She was an incredible lady and will be missed by all who knew her.
With love,

I worked for Estee Lauder Company for 32 years as was among the privileged to have met Estee and worked with Ida at the very beginning. Ida was quite a woman, and yes, she did take off her makeup in front of an entire sales force and replied it without mirrors. Sassy and beautiful, funny and helpful in the office and always dressed to the top of the fashion scale!!!!! We always sent birthday greetings because our birthdays were a day apart. Always with a smile. She will be missed. Lois Schein-Lewis
