Henry Craig Obituary

Henry Eskidoe Craig, Jr.
AIKEN - Henry Eskidoe Craig Jr, 90, known affectionately by many as "Junior" was born on May 19, 1931 in Aiken County to parents, Henry Sr and Mattie Chavous. On Thursday, June 24, 2021, God called him home and said "Job well done. Come unto me... and I will give you rest."
Henry was a devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee, a Deacon, and sang on the Male Chorus until his health prevented him from maintaining an active role. He was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran and served in the Korean War. He worked at the U.S. Postal Service and was the owner and Broker-in-Charge of Craig & Associates Realty. He enjoyed helping people find homes in the community he loved and worked to improve. He served on the boards of the Aiken Drug and Alcohol Commission and the Aiken County Planning Commission. He was a pillar of his community.
He was united in holy matrimony to Nancy Scott on June 26, 1954. To this union three, children were born - Renee Frails, Rodney Craig (deceased), and Shawn Craig-Parker. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, helping others, watching the news and the Carolina Panthers.
Henry leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted wife Nancy Scott Craig, Aiken, SC; two daughters, Renee Frails of Aiken SC and Shawn Craig-Parker (James), Philadelphia, PA. Four grandchildren: Casey B. Thorne (Brandon), Kayla E. Frails, Amira C. Parker, and Tahir Henry Parker. One great grandchild Riley Thorne and another on the way. He was predeceased by both his sister Lubertha Page and "adopted brother" Jimmie Whitfield. Devoted Cousins: Emery (Novella) Craig, Horace (Nan) Bell, Helen Stephens, and Alicia Brooks. A beloved host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
The viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 29th, 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be Wednesday, June 30th at noon, at Second Baptist Church - 1151 York Street NE in Aiken. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC. The service will be live streamed on Facebook: https://m.facebook.com/JacksonBrooks1912.
