HAZEL COX Obituary

COX, HAZEL BUNCH - age 99, formerly of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday May 13, 2014, at home in Rutledge, Tennessee. Mrs. Cox was a housewife and mother, she was a member of North Hills Baptist Church, and loved to make quilts, was an avid reader, enjoyed working word puzzles, and kept a daily journal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer L. Cox; sons, Joseph Cox, Ronnie Cox, and Jack Cox. Survivors: daughters, Alene Mills of Strawplains, Mary Ruth Wilder of Rutledge, Olaf (Dotie) Flynn of Knoxville; and daughter and son-in-law, Bess and Clifford Russell of Oliver Springs; son, Don Cox of Wartburg, and sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Shirley Cox, and Huey and Linda Cox, all of Strawplains; also 24 grandchildren; over 36 great grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Stevens Mortuary, 1304 Oglewood Avenue, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2014, with a chapel service at 7:00 p.m., Reverend Josh Greene officiating. The family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m., Friday, May 16, 2014, for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service and interment at Indian Creek Cemetery, in Oliver Springs, with Reverend Billy Large officiating.Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway, is serving the family of Mrs. Cox.
